I decided to start Couture Cowgirl as I have for a very long time wanted to design a line of t-shirts with sophisticated styling and a number of other products that would not be the one-of-a-kind western couture pieces I do with Thistles West and Merezia Custom. When the name Couture Cowgirl was mentioned to me, I began thinking of all the wonderful things that could be done with this name. I decided that I would need a partner with savvy to work with as I came up with too many ideas for one person to handle. That perfect person is Missy Unruh of Silver Steer Boutique. Missy and I have many of the same visions and we think so much alike at times, I know this will be a great partnership.
I am an award winning designer for my couture western designs, but want to do things that are fun to wear when not dressed to the nines in couture fashions whether western or not. These will be things that if a city girl dreams of being a cowgirl, she can wear them as well as the true cowgirl. Our idea is that these are things you can wear to go shopping in, then wear out to dinner or where ever you are going that you want to feel shows your fashonista yet sophisticated casual side. Couture Cowgirl is a “state of mind” that crosses many lines.
There will eventually be several different sections to our sight that will be interesting to the Couture Cowgirl fashionistas around the world. One of these will be highlighting stories written by viewers of how they are a Couture Cowgirl and we will start out by posting Missy’s and my stories. We are working very hard to develop a website like no others have been done.
It has taken time and a lot of talking to get to our beginnings and I have people to thank for that. Thank you to Thea Marx for the inspiration of the Couture Cowgirl name and to Danielle Hayes for giving us the URL. To Missy for coming up with ideas that confirm what I am thinking and for new ideas, and to my dearest brother for doing the website development. We have a lot of work to do, so keep watching as this will be very interesting. I think the combination of our three websites will give you, the Couture Cowgirl, many things to choose from whether it is casual or couture one-of-a-kind fashions, accessories or jewelry.
